Lancers Fall Back To Third At Nationals

PALM COAST, Fla. – Grace’s women’s golf team continued play at the 2020 NCCAA National Championships on Tuesday.
The Lady Lancers combined to shoot 331 as a team during the second round to move back into third place on the team leaderboard. Grace was coming off a memorable round on Monday, shooting 310 which was the lowest championship round in program history.
Rebecca Hawes fired a 78 to lead the Lady Lancers on Tuesday. She had 11 pars and one birdie to card a six-over 78.
Carolyn Pacocha was next in line with an 83, and Rachel Harvey (84), Lucy Young (86) and Hannah Godfrey (87) rounded out Grace’s scoring.
Pacocha sits in sixth place on the individual leaderboard, and Hawes is one stroke behind her in seventh place.
Dallas Baptist all but wrapped up the championship, sitting 54 strokes ahead of Bethel University heading into the final round. DBU is sitting at a blistering three-under as a team, shooting 290 on Tuesday to piggyback its 283 on Monday. Grace is 14 strokes back of Bethel, with Erskine and Oakland City well back of the two Crossroads teams.
The Lady Lancers will end the tournament on Wednesday for the third and final round at Hammock Beach Resort.
