Vincent Adds Another State Tennis Honor

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association released its final round of awards over the weekend, and NorthWood’s Ben Vincent was bestowed yet another seasonal honor.
The tennis association listed Vincent as an All-State Honorable Mention choice, one of nine players from the area who were selected to the Honorable Mention list. Joining the NorthWood senior, who finished his individual season 22-3 overall, were Bremen’s Mark Bahr and Carson Miller, East Noble’s Vittorio Bonn, Penn’s Aidan Sucharetza, Peru’s Ian Potts, Plymouth’s Drew Harrell, St. Joe’s Kyle Fernandez and Westview’s Isaiah Hostetler.
On the IHSTeCA First Team All-State were Penn’s Will Thurin and St. Joe’s Daniel Pries, and the Second Team doubles had Culver Academy’s Paul Wilson and Nate Posner.
Honorable Mention doubles included Bremen’s Shay Kiser and Mason Porter, as well as Mariano DeLeon and Camden Hickman, Penn’s Eli Dieschly and Hunter Streigel, St. Joe’s Sean Gibson and Davis Borders, and Westview’s Will Clark and Brady Hostetler.
The association also issued All-Academic Team awards, to which Warsaw, NorthWood, Goshen and Plymouth from the Northern Lakes Conference were recognized, as well as teams from Westview, St. Joe and South Bend Clay.
Also noted in area tennis accolades, Tippecanoe Valley’s Payton Mills was named Honorable Mention All-Three Rivers Conference.
The TRC chose Potts, Manchester’s Brady Wiley, Whitko’s David Ousley and Maconaquah’s Mason Yoars as First Team singles. First Team doubles went to Maconaquah’s Wesley Yoars and Walker Hays, Rochester’s Brock Bowers and Kyle Reinartz, and Peru’s Pete Polk and Lucas Slagel.
Honorable Mentions included Peru’s Leif Astrup, Rochester’s Grant McCarter, Wabash’s Kaemon Burton and Whitko’s Aiden Hoffman.
