Hoosier Plains Releases Fall Conference Honors

SOUTH BEND – The first year of the Hoosier Plains Conference is underway, and the 2020 fall season is in the books save for Argos, which is playing for a Class 1-A boys soccer state title this weekend.
In each of the five sports housed by the conference, the league issues just All-Conference honorees. Members of the conference include Lakeland Christian Academy, Bethany Christian, Trinity at Greenlawn, Argos and Elkhart Christian.
In boys soccer, Argos led the way with Michael Richard, Teddy Redinger, Gabriel Stone and Colton Markley. Also earning All-HPC were Trinity’s George Shaffer, Henry Lee and Peter Loughran, Bethany Christian’s Beck Willems and Colin Ward, Lakeland Christian’s Brayden Lane and Garrett McKeever, and Elkhart Christian’s Luke Schramm.
In girls soccer, Argos again led the way with Alyssa, Poisel, Madisyn Barcus, Madilyn VanDerWeele and Lilly Hines. Making up the remainder were Trinity’s Ella Milligan, Maggie Karban and Tess Curran, Bethany’s Rilynn Kaufmann and Mackenzie Mast, Lakeland’s Jessi Calizo and Finley Hobbs, and Elkhart’s Kylee Liechty.
In volleyball, Bethany paced the field with Sadie Brenneman, Maddie Chupp and Mia Reinhardt. Elkhart had Karlie George and Shaye Wilson, Argos had Sierra Schnitz and Samantha Rose, and Lakeland had Addisyn Daley.
In cross country, Elkhart Christian led the boys and Bethany Christian led the girls. For the boys, ECA had Luke Schramm, Tony Maxwell, Lis Bueno and Jude Reynolds, Bethany had Jesse Bontrager and Sam Klopfenstein and Argos had Jack McIntyre. For the girls, the Lady Bruins had Teresa Ross-Richer, Beka Youngberg, Ana Yoder and Alina Bergstresser. Elkhart’s Emma Gruet and Adaline Russell along with Lakeland’s Becca Bass were also tabbed.
