Service Academy Day Set For Saturday Is Cancelled

WASHINGTON – Congressman Jim Banks announced the postponement of the annual Service Academy Day at the Fort Wayne Air National Guard Base, which had been set for Saturday, Oct. 31.
The program offers a comprehensive overview of the respective academies and their admissions processes will be provided to students who are interested in attending one of the five U.S. service academies.
A new date was not announced and a specific reason for the postponement was not given.
The five service academies include the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.; United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md.; United States Coast Guard Academy, New London, Conn.; United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, N.Y.; United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.
The value of an appointment to a service academy is equivalent to a $400,000 scholarship. To RSVP for the briefing on October 31, email [email protected] with all attendees listed along with their full names, driver’s license numbers and dates of birth.
The deadline to turn in applications for the Service Academies Class of 2025 has been extended to no later than Nov. 23 at 5 p.m.
