Homestead Will Host Sectional Championship

WARSAW – Some speculation remained Friday night and into the weekend on whether Warsaw would host or travel to Homestead for the football sectional championship.
The decision has been made, and Homestead will serve as host for this Friday’s football sectional championship.
Homestead (9-1) will host Warsaw (8-2) at 7 p.m. for the Class 6-A Sectional 3 championship. Initially, Southwest Allen County Schools, which houses Homestead, had not allowed fans at athletic contests in regards to the latest spike in COVID-19 cases in Allen County. The decision to allow fans this Friday at Homestead will still see a very limited amount of fans.
The Spartans, ranked No. 8 in the last regular season poll, holds an 11-6 series advantage on Warsaw, including the last four matchups which includes a 52-27 win over Warsaw in the 2016 sectional championship. Warsaw’s last win over Homestead was in 2009.
Warsaw athletics released the following information Monday afternoon in regards to the game.
Allen County & Southwest Allen County Schools have decided to allow spectators at the sectional championship football game this Friday night. Consequently, the game will be played at Homestead.
Warsaw will receive 250 pre-sale tickets for spectators at $6 each.
The distribution of tickets will be as follows:
Tuesday, Nov. 3rd: 4 tickets for senior football players & cheerleaders. 2 tickets for remaining players and cheerleaders participating on Friday night.
Wednesday, Nov. 4th: 4 tickets for senior football players & cheerleaders. 2 tickets for remaining players and cheerleaders participating on Friday night.
Thursday, Nov. 5th: Any remaining tickets from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. = 2 tickets for any JV football player or cheerleader who are not on the travel roster. After 12 p.m = Any remaining tickets will be sold to WCHS Senior students (1)
Friday, Nov. 6th: Any remaining tickets will be open to the public.
All tickets can be purchased in the athletic office this week from 7:30am – 3:30pm.
