Football State Championship Scoreboard
INDIANAPOLIS – The IHSAA held its first of two days of the football state championships Friday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Class 2-A
Western Boone 36, Fort Wayne Luers 35
Western Boone (11-4) won its third straight Class 2-A state title, the Stars earning the third with a 38-yard field goal by Josiah Smith with seven seconds left in the game. Luers (8-7) was making its 16th state finals appearance.
Class 4-A
Indianapolis Roncalli 49, Hobart 7
Aiden Leffler tied a state record with five touchdown passes as Roncalli (13-1) won its 10th state title. Hobart (11-3) was making its 12th state finals appearance, but first since 1996.
Class 6-A
Center Grove 38, Westfield 14
In a game that saw eight Class 6-A records be established, the Trojans (14-0) won its third state title overall after making its fourth appearance in the state finals in the past six seasons. Westfield (12-2) was making its fourth state finals appearance, it’s only title coming in 2016.
