Nolan Spore Lego Prize Winner At Milford Library
News Release
MILFORD – Here’s an update from Milford Community Public Library.
Lego Crew Challenge
What better Lego Crew Challenge in November than to have the children create a turkey out of Legos! The library staff was very impressed with how creative, and what imaginations the children have. Nolan Spore, the November winner, took home a 300 piece Classic Lego set. Congratulations Nolan!!
If you have a child(ren) who love to build with Legos, be sure to follow the Library on Facebook, or check out our website for each month’s Lego Crew Challenge. This Challenge is virtual and from the comfort and safety of your home. The library is challenging children to build a Christmas ornament in the month of December. Please send a photo to [email protected] by Monday, December 21 at 8:00 pm. We look forward to checking out the amazing ornaments all month long.
Free Virtual Programs
The Holiday Show, with Magic Don Miller, is a free family program. Family traditions during Christmas are shared with those all over the world. Magic Don uses comedy, magic, and good old fashion storytelling in The Holiday Show. The program is available beginning Monday, December 14 through Saturday, December 26. Please sign up in the Adult Department, or by phoning 574-658-4312. Those who register will be emailed a YouTube link to watch in your home with your family.
Jackie Franks, with the Purdue Extension, is excited to give us tips on how to stay healthy while traveling during the holiday season. In this virtual lesson, you will learn about the germiest places you come in contact with during your travels, and how to keep yourself safe. Please register in the Adult Department, or by calling the library at 574-658-4312. This program will be available for one week, beginning Monday, December 14 through Saturday, December 19. A link to the program will be emailed to those who sign up.
Friends Gift Baskets
Carol Haab and Carolyn Zimmerman are members of the Friends of the Library. These two women have put together a number of Christmas gift baskets for the community to purchase. A table in the Adult Department of the library has the baskets displayed. Stop in and pick up a gift for your loved ones. The money raised by the sale of these baskets goes back to the library to purchase items that are not covered in our yearly budget. Thank you Carol and Carolyn for your talent and hard work!
Knitting Club Goes Virtual
The members of the Knitting Club have made the decision to not meet in person in December. However, the knitters still want to be able to knit together. Thank goodness for the internet and a little thing called Zoom! If you, or anyone you know, are interested in joining the Knitting Club on Thursday, December 17, please phone 574-658-4312 and a staff member can put you in touch with this amazing group.
