PLYMOUTH — Stephen Trago, 71, Plymouth, died at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday, Dec. 15.

The collision occurred at 12:21 p.m. at US 31 and Michigan Road, Plymouth.

Officials with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office report Laura Melton, 68, Scottsboro, Ala., was southbound in the passing lane of US 31 and Trago was exiting Michigan Road, traveling eastbound across the south lanes of US 31 apparently to travel onto US 31 northbound. Trago failed to yield to Melton’s vehicle causing Melton’s vehicle to hit the area of the driver’s door. Both vehicles came to rest partially in the median south of the intersection.

Melton and a passenger in Trago’s vehicle, Joyce Gerard, 57, Plymouth, were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Plymouth, for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Plymouth EMS and Fire.
