GOP Seeking To Fill Vacancy In Scott Township

WARSAW – Republicans are continuing to take applications for the vacancy created after Scott Township Board member Tom Besson passed away recently.
The appointment will be made in a caucus scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the Kosciusko County Clerks Office, 121 N. Lake St. in Warsaw, according to Mike Ragan, chairman of the Kosciusko County Republican Central Committee.
Declarations of candidacy, and statements of economic interests, are available at the same office and must be notarized and filed with the Chairman, no later than 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27.
Scott Township is in northwest Kosciusko County and south of the city of Nappanee.
Ragan said one person has shown interest in the job so far.
Ragan added, “Additionally, we would like to express our sympathy to the family and friends of Tom Besson.”
