Tigers Double Up Slicers

WARSAW – Warsaw celebrated a little late Christmas cheer Tuesday, pulling a double win over visiting LaPorte in boys and girls swimming.
Warsaw Girls 107, LaPorte 73
Warsaw claimed just five of the 12 event toppers, but had depth on its side in its dual win.
Macelyn Marcuccilli and Marissa Howett both won two events and were part of the top 200 free relay. Marcuccilli landed a 27.01 in the 50 free and 1:16.78 in the breaststroke, and Howett posted a 2:07.43 in the 200 free and 59.98 in the 100 free. The relay touched first at 1:48.37.
While LaPorte had seven wins, Warsaw took nine second-place times including all three relays.

The Tigers didn’t let LaPorte get an inch at the finish line, taking all 12 top honors in its run to a dual win.
Four Warsaw swimmers had a say in eight individual wins. Ian Wihebrink took the 200 free at 1:55.83 and breaststroke at 1:01.96, Cooper Archer posted a 2:13.94 in the individual medley and 1:04.81 in the backstroke, Michael Ray went 22.46 in the 50 free and 49.85 in the 100 free, and Nate Taylor had a 57.85 in the backstroke and 5:26.75 in the 500 free.
Add in a 198.40 diving win for Jayce Sawyer and three relays – 1:45.62 in the medley, 1:36.83 in the 200 and 3:51.35 in the 400.
