State Vaccination Website Experiencing Heavy Traffic
Staff Report
INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Health says it’s experiencing high traffic on the first day of its online vaccine registration effort.
Registration on the state website, www.ourshot.in.gov, began at 9 a.m., for those 80 and older in the general population who wish to be vaccinated.
By 9:49 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, the ISDH said via its Twitter account that “Our vaccine registration site is experiencing high volume at this time. Please be patient and check back later.”
Residents at long-term facilities were already eligible to be vaccinated. Others already eligible before Friday included health care workers, mental health and social workers and emergency personnel.
Family members of those 80 and older may also register for them at the website. People also may call 2-1-1 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily, including weekends, to set up a registration time.
For those registering in Kosciusko County, the vaccination sites are Kosciusko Community Hospital and the K21 Health Services Pavilion. People may select which spot they’d like to go to when they register.
