Warsaw Boys 52, Northridge 37

The Tigers picked up a key Northern Lakes Conference win Friday night at the Tiger Den.

A pair of shutdown quarters, holding Ridge to two points in the first quarter and three in the third allowed Warsaw to build leads ot 12-2 and 34-19, respectively. Warsaw opened the game on an 18-2 run to stun the Raiders, the visitors also limited to just one free throw attempt in the contest while Warsaw was 14-19 from the line.

For the Tigers (6-5, 2-0 NLC) Jaxon Gould had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds and Judah Simfukwe wasn’t far behind with 13 points and seven boards. Ben Bergen added 15 points and Jackson Dawson tossed in six points and seven rebounds.

Carter Stoltzfus led Northridge (5-3, 0-1) with 12 points while Sam Smith and Jesse Ryman each had 10 points.

Northridge won the JV game 39-36 behind 15 points from Caden Mack. Kyle Dawson had 14 points and seven rebounds and Tayde Kiser had 12 points to pace the Tigers.

NorthWood Boys 62, Wawasee 47

A big night from Cooper Wiens helped NorthWood stay ahead of Wawasee at The Pit.

Wiens recorded 20 points on 8-13 shooting, five assists, three rebounds and three steals to pace the Panthers (8-2, 2-0 NLC). Cade Brenner also had a well-rounded night with 15 points, five assists and three rebounds. Ian Raasch had nine points and seven rebounds and Ben Vincent pitched in six points and seven assists.

NorthWood used a 19-3 run over the course of the second and third quarters to help build a 51-33 lead. The Panthers also turned 19 turnovers into 26 points, gaining an 18-point advantage on the plus-minus in the category.

Keaton Dukes rose up for 24 points to pace the Warriors (3-5, 0-2), but no other Wawasee scorer would top six points.

Glenn Boys 51, Triton 50

A nailbiter at the Trojan Trench as John Glenn won it on a late bucket.

Glenn’s Silas Kaser hit a spinning one-hander with 2.1 seconds to go to give Glenn the lead at 50-49. Triton almost pulled out the miracle as Ashton Oviedo’s half court prayer hit front iron at the final horn, ending a whale of a contest.

Oviedo had 14 points for the Trojans (6-2) and Tyson Yates led the team with 15 points. John Gardner chipped in seven points in the loss. For the Falcons (8-0), Brycen Hannah led the squad with 27 points, Joe Deliniski had 10 points and Kaser had just four points, but his third and fourth points were the difference.

Northfield Boys 60, Tippecanoe Valley 56 (OT)

Valley came up short of its first Three Rivers Conference win Friday night in an overtime loss to the Norse.

Northfield outscored Valley 11-7 in the extra frame, which the visitors had to rally from six down at the half to get the game to extras.

Paul Leasure made his comeback for Valley (1-7, 0-2 TRC) and hit five three-pointers to lead the team with 23 points. Nolan Cumberland had 17 points and Dawson Perkins had a double-double with 11 points 19 huge rebounds.
