Tippecanoe Valley Girls 55, Maconaquah 42
Valley won a key game in the Three Rivers Conference Thursday night in the shadows of Grissom Air Reserve Base.
As the Vikings have done time and again this season, a close first half turned into a big lead in the third quarter, and Thursday was no different as Valley led just 32-27 at the break, only to outscore the Braves 18-5 in the third quarter. And has been the case so often this season, Sidney Wagner was in the middle of it. Wagner scored nine points in the third and led the Vikings on the night with 22 points.
Kaydence Mellott scored 11 points as did Hayley Backus, and Corinna Stiles added nine points.
Valley moves to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in the TRC, setting up a showdown Saturday night with the TRC frontrunners, Rochester, which are 6-0 this season.
Molly Moriarty dropped 15 points for the Vikes in a 34-22 JV win.
