Barbara Yoder
Barbara Yoder, 86, Etna Green, passed away at 11:15 p.m., Jan. 20, 2021, at Kosciusko Community Hospital after a short illness. She was born July 30, 1934, in Nappanee to Eli D. and Clara (Hochstetler) Stutzman. On April 7, 1959, she married Melvin J. Yoder. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2016. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are her children: Lloyd (Kathy) Yoder, Goshen; LaMar (Barbara) Yoder, Nappanee; Linda Yoder, Etna Green; Lavon Yoder, Nappanee; Leora (Daryl) Burkholder, Wakarusa; Lynn (Michelle) Yoder, Wakarusa; Lauren (Earl) Chupp, Etna Green; Karen (Steve) Higgins, Woodbury, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers: Melvin (Anna Mae) Stutzman, Etna Green; Ervin (Ida Mae) Stutzman, Nappanee; Glenn (Elizabeth) Stutzman, Nappanee; sisters: Inez Slabaugh Brown City, Mich.; Mary (Mahlon) Schmucker, Macy; Edna (Martin) Schwartz, New Paris; brother-in-law, Elmer (Carolyn) Yoder, Goshen; sisters-in-law, Martha (Walter) Miller, Nappanee; Mary Chupp, Etna Green; Elizabeth (Lamar) Hochstetler, Nappanee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Yoder; sister, Ruby Schwartz; sisters-in-law, Edna Helmuth, Wilma Yoder, Edna Yoder; brothers-in-law, Edwin Yoder, Ivan Yoder, Edwin Helmuth, Robert Slabaugh, Levi Chupp.
Family and friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, and all day, Saturday, Jan. 23, at Merlin Yoder Residence 25111 CR 54, Nappanee. Funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 24, also at Merlin Yoder Residence. Burial will follow in West Union Cemetery. Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate.
