UPDATE: Two Arrested On Warrants In Fatal Wabash County Shooting

WABASH — Two people from Wabash have been arrested on multiple warrants after an officer-involved shooting in which a Wabash man died.
Gabrielle Bolin, 26; and Curt Bolin, 31, both of Wabash, were inside the residence where the shooting occurred. Further investigation revealed the Bolins were wanted on multiple arrest warrants. Gabrielle was wanted on failure to appear warrants for possession of a narcotic drug and theft. Curt was wanted on failure to appear warrants for resisting law enforcement, theft and possession of a narcotic drug. The Bolins were taken into custody at the Wabash County Jail.
Preliminary investigation by Indiana State Police detectives revealed that at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, officers from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) served a search warrant at 63 E. Main St., Apartment 3, Wabash. After officers made entry into the residence, there was an exchange of gunfire between law enforcement and those inside.
Two people inside the home appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds. Roger D. Hipskind, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 35-year-old woman was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital. No officers were injured. It has yet to be determined if Hipskind died from an officer’s bullet or from a self-inflicted gunshot. An autopsy will be conducted.
