WARSAW — A Pierceton woman is facing battery and strangulation charges after she got into a physical argument with her girlfriend.
Olivia Nicole Stacy, 23, 7135 E. CR 125S, No. 6, Pierceton, is facing charges of domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; domestic battery moderate bodily injury, a level 6 felony; strangulation, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on Feb. 1, a police officer responded to a domestic abuse complaint in the county.
He found Stacy loading up her belongings in her vehicle. She said she had gotten into a verbal fight with her girlfriend.
Stacy said her girlfriend shoved her and Stacy got on top of her. Her girlfriend started biting her finger, and Stacy hit her in the face to get her to stop.
Stacy said that another person tried to pull them apart and she tightened her grasp on her girlfriend’s neck.
The officer spoke to Stacy’s girlfriend, who said the two had gotten into a verbal fight. She said Stacy tried to damage a washing machine at the house during the fight.
She said Stacy punched her in the face, making her fall into a bathtub. Stacy got on top of her and started hitting her head against the tub.
She said Stacy placed her finger in her mouth and started to pull her mouth open. The woman bit Stacy’s finger to keep her from ripping her mouth as she has done before.
Stacy started to choke her with her hands and arm.
Emergency responders treated Stacy’s girlfriend for a noticeable contusion on her head. The officer noted red marks on her neck, which looked like finger marks that would be made during a choking. Another witness said she was at the home and saw the incident take place between the two women.
Stacy was booked at the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 1 on a more than $5,000 surety and cash bond.
Stacy was previously convicted of battery resulting in moderate bodily injury in Kosciusko County in November 2019. She had a probation violation with allegations partially being she failed to complete anger management.
She was allowed to serve the executed portion of her sentence through the Kosciusko County Community Corrections Program. She was later terminated from that for leaving Serenity House without permission.
