Haleigh Renae Johnson, 28, 212 S. First St., Pierceton, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 5 felony; unlawful possession of a syringe, maintaining a common nuisance and neglect of a dependent, all level 6 felonies; possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia with a prior, a class A misdemeanor.
On Jan. 28, officers with the NET43 Drug Task Force were taking part in a multi-agency warrant blitz. The officers went to a location in Pierceton to serve a warrant on a man for dealing and possession of methamphetamine.
Officers made contact with a woman, identified as Johnson, at the residence’s door. Johnson gave officers consent to enter the residence to look for the man. Inside the residence, officers found a man, identified as Irvine, sitting on a couch inside. Next to the couch was a baby bed with a small child inside. Officers could also smell marijuana while inside the residence.
According to court documents, when Irvine stood up from the couch, one of the officers noticed a small, opened plastic bag. The contents, a crystal rock substance, spilled out onto the couch. While searching Irvine’s person, officers found a hypodermic syringe. The crystal substance tested positive for methamphetamine.
While searching the residence, officers found a small makeup bag containing Johnson’s driver’s license, three bags, a spoon with residue and four syringes. One of the bags contained methamphetamine. Officers also found a firearm and a prescription pill bottle in a dresser drawer.
Irvine was previously convicted of possession of methamphetamine, providing a firearm to an ineligible person and possession of precursors. Johnson was previously convicted of possession of a narcotic drug, possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a syringe.
For this case, Irvine has a status conference on March 1; Johnson has an initial hearing for this case on March 4.
