Warsaw, Wawasee Earn Freshmen NLC Tourney Wins

Warsaw and Wawasee were among four Northern Lakes Conference teams to advance to the championship bracket of the NLC Freshman Boys Basketball Tournament in games played Thursday.

Warsaw beat Goshen 46-30, stats from the game were not provided.

Wawasee beat Northridge 40-31. Carson Smith led the Warriors with 16 points and Cole Young added six points.

Mishawaka beat Concord 41-31 and Plymouth knocked off NorthWood 49-41.

The championship bracket at Plymouth will have Wawasee and Warsaw meet Saturday morning at 9 a.m., Plymouth and Mishawaka meeting opposite in the other gym.

In the consolation bracket at NorthWood, the hosts will play Concord and Northridge will meet Goshen, both at 9 a.m.

Championship and consolation winners will play at 10:30 at their respective sites.

South Bend Career Academy Boys 55, Lakeland Christian 49

The Academy visited Winona Lake and pulled off a Hoosier Plains Conference road win Thursday night.
