Janet L. Buchholz

Janet L. Buchholz, 87, Warsaw, passed away quietly at 1:19 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, in Warsaw at Kosciusko Community Hospital.

She was born Aug. 4, 1933, in Nappanee and was the daughter of Cloyce and Berniece (Detwiler) Hoffer. She grew up in the area and was a 1951 graduate of Etna Green High School.

Janet was a devoted mother to her seven children whom she loved dearly. In addition to her role as mother she often worked outside the home at Da-Lite Screen, Walmart and even waitressing to care for her beloved family. Later, her family grew when Janet was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ronald P Buchholz on July 21, 1978. The pair spent nearly 43 years together before her Tuesday afternoon passing.

Janet was a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church, the Dorcas Sewing Circle and a lifelong member of T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). She enjoyed nature, time in the sun, flower gardening, sewing and crochet. She especially enjoyed music in the park and time spent with her family and friends at her August birthdays.

Those who survive with memories to cherish include her husband, Ronald Buchholz; five sons: Garry (Jackie) McCleary, Barry (Brenda) McCleary, Larry (Linda) McCleary, Mark (Julie) McCleary and Timothy (Rachel) Faurote; daughter, Linda (John) McCleary-Chicchetti; 26 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers: Wayne (Martha) Hoffer and DeVoe (Lumi) Hoffer; four stepchildren: Pamela Buchholz, Patrice Buchholz, Ann (Jeff) Hartel and Amy (Patrick) O’Hare; daughter-in-law, Lana McCleary and sisters-in-law, Fran Hoffer and Carol Hoffer.

She was preceded in passing by her son, Richard McCleary; brothers, Doozy Hoffer and DeVon Hoffer and by sister, Joanne Foster.

Warsaw’s Titus Funeral Home is assisting the family with simple cremation – no services are planned at this time.
