Robert ‘Bob’ Trout
Robert “Bob” Trout, 56, Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Parkview Hospital. Born March 18, 1964, in Toms River, N.J., he was the son of Janice (Trout) Minick.
At a young age, Bob moved to Fort Wayne. He attended Washington and Hoagland Elementary, Fairfield Middle School and South Side High School. Bob was an extremely hard worker. He began working at 17 as a prep cook at Bob Evans. By the time he turned 20, Bob started what would become a 35-year career with CMS Roofing. He was a dedicated worker and never wanted to miss a day on the job. In the off season from roofing, he was a handyman helping do home repairs on rental properties. Bob was devoted to his family, enjoyed spending times with friends, loved to watch football and was a big Colts fan.
He is survived by his mother, Janice Minick; daughters, Jennifer (Adam) Ickes, Amanda Trout, Tiffany Trout and Stephany Trout; grandchildren, Austin, Savannah, Jackson, Kinzley, Kyleigh and Samantha; son, Mike Horton; and an uncle, Paul Trout. He was preceded in death by his brother in May of 2020, Mike Minick.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, March 8, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Face masks are required for attendance. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior. Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus will be officiating.
