Lamoine Joe Leckone
Lamoine Joe Leckone, 79, Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly at 8:36 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born Sept. 4, 1941, in Rochester, to Irven Joe Leckrone and Mildred B. (Silveus) Leckrone. On July 11, 1959, he was married to Della Mae (Manns) Leckrone. They raised three children and shared 61 years of marriage together before he passed away.
Lamoine lived most of his life in Warsaw, where he was a member of Warsaw Family Worship Center. He provided for his family over the years farming, as a semi-truck driver, field tile drainage work and as the Kosciusko County Drainage Inspector. He was able to enjoy God’s beauty from his semi’s windows and he was always very proud of the fact that he was a Million-Mile driver accident free. Generally, he was a quiet man, but he definitely could share his thoughts on certain subjects. Lamoine enjoyed coon hunting with his brothers-in-law, camping and riding horses. Most of all, he loved his family and will be dearly missed.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Della Mae Leckrone, Warsaw; two sons, Donald Leckrone, Silver Lake, and David Leckrone, Marion; daughter, Melissa (Chris) Smith, Kokomo; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his three sisters, Marlene Weller, Silver Lake, Eilene Kimes, Warsaw, and Joy Gunter, Winona Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Lamoine’s life from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at his residence at 1730 N. Vicky Lane, Warsaw. This would have been Lamoine and Della’s 62nd wedding anniversary. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Online condolences may be sent through the funeral home’s website at www.redpathfruthfuneralhome.com.
