SYRACUSE — The butler did it. Or did he?
In order to unravel the murder mystery, plan to attend the Wawasee High School spring play “Clue” at 7 p.m. March 19-20 and 26-27 in the high school auditorium.
“Clue,” written by Sandy Rustin, is based on the popular Hasbro board game and adapted from a movie. All of the classic characters from the board game will appear in the play such as Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock and others.
All of the characters are invited to the Boddy Manor and are given a weapon by Mr. Boddy, who has threatened to expose them if he is arrested. They then go about trying to solve the mystery in a hilarious manner.
Double casting is being used and each weekend will feature a different cast. Play director Kristin Bonner chose to use double casting because of the potential of losing cast members due to possibly being quarantined because of COVID-19. A smaller cast size also allows for double casting to be used.
Performing March 19 and 27 will be Andrik Bautista (Wadsworth), Claire Beer (Yvette), Bronwyn Bonner (Miss Scarlet), Sophia Rush (Mrs. Peacock), Brynn Jamora (Mrs. White), Dylan Minear (Colonel Mustard), Robert Schmucker (Professor Plum) and Colten Edgar (Mr. Green). Swing characters are Izabella Espinoza and Clay Coblentz.
Performers for March 20 and 26 are Devin Van Lue (Wadsworth), Windsor Bonner (Yvette), Taylor Cripe (Miss Scarlet), Serena Lesko (Mrs. Peacock), McKenna Clay (Mrs. White), Josh Lesko (Colonel Mustard), Jackson Charles (Professor Plum) and Ethan Dennis (Mr. Green). The same swing characters will be used with this cast.
Bonner saw “Clue” being performed last summer in Warsaw and had wanted to do the show at Wawasee.
Online ticket prices are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and student tickets are $7. Seating is general admission and can be purchased online at wawaseeperformingarts.ludus.com/index.php or at the door if not sold out prior to show night.
Seating is limited due to COVID precautions, masks are required upon entry and family groups will be seated with social distancing in place.
Bonner is assisted by Mindy Coblentz and the production crew also includes Chris Dykhuisen, Jordan Fredericks and student teacher Jennifer Dannemiller.
