KIMMELL — A woman from Kimmell was recently arrested after engaging in sexual conduct with a foster child.
Nicole Lanae Thornsbearry, 35, 2918 N. Oak St., Kimmell, is charged with child seduction, a level 5 felony.
On March 4, a Noble County Sheriff’s officer was informed by a Department of Child Services worker of a child seduction report. The DCS worker said a teenager was involved in a sexual relationship with Thornsbearry.
According to court documents, the officer interviewed the teenager twice on March 4. During the first interview, the teenager confirmed their age and denied any sexual contact occurring between them and Thornsbearry.
In between the teenager’s interviews, Thornsbearry was interviewed at the Noble County Sheriff’s Department. During the interview, Thornsbearry said she was the teenager’s foster parent and denied any sexual conduct happening. Officers offered Thornsbearry the opportunity to take a polygraph examination. Thornsbearry took a polygraph test and again denied having sexual contact with the teenager.
Thornsbearry failed the examination. She later admitted that she had sexual contact with the teenager on one occasion in January.
During their second interview, the teenager admitted to having sexual contact with Thornsbearry on one occasion in January.
