East Noble Girls 105, Wawasee 27
Wawasee’s outdoor track season opened Tuesday night in Kendallville. The Lady Warriors found the road tough as the Knights won 13 of the 16 events.
Of the three wins for Wawasee, two were by Katelyn Niemann, who won both the shotput and discus. Bailey Mayhew collected the third win, taking the 400 dash.
Wawasee’s throws were solid, with Brooklynn Gibson second in shot, and Emma Yoder and Caydence Chupp right behind Niemann in discus.
McKenzie Long added a second in the 800 and third in the mile, and Emma Ebright was third in the two-mile for the Lady Warriors.

“It was a decent first meet,” said Wawasee girls head coach Jose Lopez. “Some of the girls ran really well. Can’t wait to see what they can do later in the season. The young throwers really showed up tonight.”
East Noble Boys 87, Wawasee 36

“We have a young team with a few upperclass athletes that will continue to improve,” stated Wawasee boys head coach Frank Pizana.
