SOUTH WHITLEY — Whitko Community Schools has announced the Class of 2021 valedictorian and salutatorian.

Valedictorian Luke Rhoades is the son of parents Greg and Michelle Rhodes. A South Whitley resident, Rhoades will attend Huntington University beginning in the fall and pursue a degree in the field of animation. While at Whitko Community Schools, Rhoades has participated in marching band, concert band, jazz band, pep band, the spring musical and the fall play.

Salutatorian Abigail Arter is the daughter of parents Dale and Tonya Arter. A Warsaw resident, Arter will attend Grace College beginning in the fall and plans to study finance. While at Whitko Community Schools, Arter has participated in National Honor Society, golf, tennis, SADD, student council, academic team, softball manager, Champions Together and Whitley County Youth Leadership.

Whitko seniors will graduate on June 4 at Whitko Jr./Sr. High School’s football field beginning at 6:30 p.m.
