Jacob M. Schwartz, 85 Etna Green, died at 1:38 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at his residence.

Jacob was born Dec. 23, 1935, to Menno and Anna (Bontrager) Schwartz and he was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. Mr. Schwartz married Mattie Elizabeth Miller Jan. 13, 1955.

She preceded him in death Jan. 10, 2010. On Oct. 22, 2011, Jacob married Barbara Ellen (Schwartz) Chupp.

She survives along with two children, Edith (John Jr.) Lambright of Blair, Wisc.; and Ernest (Laurie) Schwartz of Hixton, Wisc.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters: Ruth (Dennis) Oder of Goshen; Mary (Lyle) Chupp of Etna Green; Rose (LaVerne) Stutzman of Etna Green; four stepsons, Robert (Jo Ellen) Chupp of Nappanee; Daniel (Sharon) Chupp of Etna Green; Andrew (Ruby) Chupp of Etna Green; and Michael (Sharon) Chupp of Nappanee; 46 step grandchildren; 77 step great grandchildren; two brothers: Andy (Lydia) Schwartz of Glanton, Wisc.; and Henry (Martha) Schwartz of Manawa, Wisc.; sister-in-law Katie Schwartz of Shipshewana.

Jacob was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, sister Carolyn Yoder, and brothers Abner, Rueben, Rudy, Uriah, Menno Jr., Dan, Henry and Phillip Schwartz. Friends and family may call at the LaVerne Stutzman residence (6677 N 900 W, Etna Green) after 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 22, and from 9-11 a.m. Friday, April 23, at the Titus Wagler Residence (17510 212th St. Bloomfield). Funeral services will then be held at the Titus Wagler residence in Bloomfield, Friday, April 23, at 1 p.m.
