Warsaw Woman Arrested After Arranging Meth Deal With Net43

WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was arrested after allegedly arranging to sell methamphetamine to a police officer.
Tarah Renae Prater, 34, 653 Heritage Lane, Warsaw, is charged with dealing in methamphetamine, a level 3 felony; and possession of methamphetamine, a level 5 felony.
On April 20, a Warsaw Police officer assigned to the NET43 drug investigation unit, contacted Prater by phone and asked if he could purchase an “eight ball” (3.5 grams) of methamphetamine.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Prater agreed to sell 3.5 grams of methamphetamine in exchange for $120.
Prater agreed to meet the officer at a gas station.
When the officer arrived at the gas station, he saw Prater in a gray Acura. When he approached the driver’s side of the vehicle, Prater recognized him as a police officer.
The officer told Prater that according to text messages, she was delivering an eight ball of methamphetamine to him.
Prater removed a plastic bag containing methamphetamine from her bra and handed it to the officer.
After being read her Miranda Rights, Prater admitted she had agreed to sell the officer an eight ball of methamphetamine for $120. She also removed another plastic bag that contained methamphetamine from her bra.
The combined weight of the methamphetamine in the two bags was between 5-10 grams.
Prater was booked at Kosciusko County Jail April 20 on a $15,250 surety and cash bond.
