UPDATE: Samaritans Rescue Victims From Overturned Vehicle In Water

SYRACUSE — Taryn B. Salvo, 29, North Birdie Court, Syracuse, was the driver of the vehicle that overturned in a marsh area at CR 650E and SR 13 Wednesday evening, May 5. She did not sustain any injuries and refused further medical treatment at the scene.
The accident was reported at 8:50 p.m.
Salvo told the investigating officer with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office she was traveling south/southeast on SR 13 and had the intention to turn south on CR 650E. She stated as she began to make the turn she lost control of her 2004 Kia Optima, causing the vehicle to continue through the intersection before leaving the roadway.
After the vehicle left the roadway it entered the water filled ditch/marsh area and rolled over coming to a stop on the roof of the vehicle. Damage to the vehicle has been estimated up to $25,000.
The name of the young passenger in Salvo’s vehicle, and the names of the two Samaritans who helped them out of the vehicle, were not noted in the police report.
Turkey Creek Fire Territory responded to the scene along with an officer with the sheriff’s office.
