Annual Blackburn Run 4 Others Will Be June 19
WINONA LAKE — The 12th annual Blackburn Run 4 Others will be June 19. The event hosts both a 5K run/walk and also a 10K run.
Race day registration and packet pickup begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. Registration costs $25 until June 6 and then increases to $32.
Both races begin at the Trailhouse Bike Shop in the Village at Winona. The 5K will take place along the paved greenway while the 10K will include a mix of paved greenway and cross-country running.
Proceeds from the race will benefit Water for Good, a nonprofit dedicated to combating the water crisis in the Central African Republic through well drilling and well maintenance. Last year, the money from the race co-funded two wells in the Central African Republic.
“I am excited to be back in person this year after having to go virtual last year,” said Doug Koontz, event organizer. “We are actually having both in person and virtual this year to accommodate everyone.”
In addition to Koontz, contributions from MudLove, Miller Cattle Company, J Lane Flooring and Design, Barefoot Stickers, 212 Media Studio, Wildman, Silveus Insurance, Clear Water Car Wash, Synergy Partnerships, VerHage Heating and Cooling and LT Siding Window and Door make the race a reality.
