WINONA LAKE – The NCCAA handed out its most prestigious soccer award to Sacia Hanson of Grace’s women’s soccer team.

Hanson was given the NCCAA’s Game Plan 4 Life Award (GP4L). The GP4L Award is given to honor the outstanding NCCAA Div. I women’s soccer player. The award recipient must demonstrate excellence in Christian testimony, athletic ability, leadership and academic standing.

Hanson is Grace’s second-ever GP4L winner, joining Meredith Hollar who won the award in 2016.

Hanson, a senior from Boulder, Colo., led Grace to five national tournaments across her four-year career (three NAIA, two NCCAA). She passed out 17 career assists to go along with six goals. She will graduate ninth all-time in career assists.

In 2018 Hanson assisted the game-winning goal to beat No. 11 Marian in overtime, sparking the Lady Lancers to secure the program’s first conference championship. She has been honored as a three-time member of the All-Crossroads League Team, four-time member of the NCCAA Midwest All-Regional Team, and an NCCAA Second Team All-American.

“Sacia is a fierce competitor and unwavering in her love for Jesus,” said Grace head coach Michael Voss. “She has been a passionate leader pointing her teammates to grow in faith and futbol. We’re blessed to have had her here at Grace!”

Hanson will graduate with a degree in elementary education with a focus in special education holding a 3.23 GPA. She has participated in various mission trips across the globe during her time at Grace, including Ohio, Costa Rica, Vietnam and Thailand.

Hanson has also volunteered at NAIA soccer clinics in Alabama, and at Night to Shine escorting special needs high school students to prom.
