SILVER LAKE — A Warsaw man was airlifted by Parkview Air Ambulance to Fort Wayne following a Wednesday, May 12, wreck.

It happened at 5:37 p.m. at East SR 14 and South Packerton Road outside Silver Lake.

According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office accident report, Kenyan C. Bennett, 22, Warsaw, was traveling south on Packerton Road in a 2000 Saturn LS and stopped at the flashing light at Packerton and SR 14.

He continued south into the intersection where his vehicle was hit by a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dylan R. Prater, 21, Silver Lake.

A passenger in Bennett’s vehicle, Dawson M. Justice, 21, Warsaw, said he didn’t think Bennett saw Prater’s vehicle before going into the intersection.

Prater said he was traveling westbound on SR 14 when Bennett entered his lane of travel. He said he tried to avoid crashing into Bennett’s vehicle, but was unable to.

Bennett was airlifted after complaining of pain over his entire body. Justice was treated at the scene for a bruise on his chest. Another passenger in Bennett’s vehicle, Jaine A. Reed, 18, Warsaw, was also treated at the scene after complaining of chest pain.
