SIDNEY – A serious single-car accident early Saturday night, May 15, left a vehicle wrapped around a pole on SR 14.

The dark Ford Fusion appeared to be headed east on SR 14 when it left the right side of the road and struck a traffic light pole at the intersection of Packerton Road.

The accident happened shortly before 7 p.m.

The car impacted the pole on the passenger side and required extrication from first responders.

Another motorist traveling west in the direction of the intersection said she heard the crash and saw smoke quickly rise up before cresting a hill and seeing the damage for herself.

No other details – including the extent of injuries – were not immediately available

Among the fire departments responding were Silver Lake, Sidney, Pierceton and Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory.
