Area Accident Reports
Warsaw
The following accidents were investigated by Warsaw Police Department:
- 3:32 p.m. May 14, on North Buffalo Street and East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Driver: Rita Hyde, 76, West CR 125N, Etna Green. Backing out of a parking space, Hyde’s vehicle struck a parked vehicle registered to Lucas Fonseca. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 12:57 p.m. May 15, in the Walmart parking lot, 2501 Walton Boulevard, Warsaw. Hit and run accident. Debra March, CR 29, Syracuse discovered damage to her vehicle’s bumper, apparently from a hitch. Damage up to $2,500.
- 3:30 p.m. May 15, on US 30 in the Meijer parking lot, Warsaw. Chelsie White, 26, Anchorage Road, Warsaw. White was attempting to pull into a parking spot and clipped a parked vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 9:48 a.m. May 16, on Frontage Road, near East Lake Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Naomi Thompson, 34, 1307 Sunday Lane, Winona Lake, and Chandra Hoover, 29, East Pixie Parkway, Cromwell. Thompson said bright sunshine made it difficult to see and her vehicle rear-ended one driven by Hoover. Damage up to $10,000.
- 2:07 p.m. May 16, in a parking lot at 2211 E. Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Eric Selmer, 49, Sophie Lake, Warsaw, and Michael Long, 43, West CR 250S, Warsaw. Selmer was pulling out of a parking spot and hit the vehicle driven by Long. Damage up to $2,500.
Kosciusko County
The following accidents were investigated by Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office:
- 2:31 a.m. May 16, on SR 15, south of West Hill Lake Road, near Claypool. Driver: Monica Rangel, 23, Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Rangle’s vehicle left the road and came to rest 75 feet off the road and in water. She admitted to drinking alcohol prior to the accident. Damages up to $10,000.
- 5:01 p.m. May 16, on North CR 325E south of East CR 300N, near Warsaw. Driver: Amber Reynolds, 18, South Beech Lane, Warsaw. Reynolds was traveling south on 300E when she left the road after trying to grab an item from the floor. The vehicle landed upside down. Damage up to $5,000.
- 11:27 p.m. Sunday, on North Second Street, south of West Market Street, Pierceton. Driver: Shiloh Steiner, 45, West Catholic Street, Pierceton. A passenger on the motorcycle, Melissa Stidams, 50, Old Road 30, Pierceton, fell off. Damage was less than $750.
