Crossroads League Awards Sweeps Continue

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League issued a host of awards lists as the 2020-21 season awards sweeps continue this week.
NAIA All-Americans – Men’s Soccer
The Crossroads League placed seven student-athletes on the NAIA Men’s Soccer All-American Team, as recently announced by the NAIA National office.
All seven CL athletes were named Honorable Mention All-Americans, with Bethel leading the way with three honors for the league. Spring Arbor followed with two awards, with Mount Vernon Nazarene and Grace each collecting one.
The 2020-2021 Men’s Soccer All-America Teams were chosen by the NAIA Men’s Soccer All-America Committee, made up of the NAIA Men’s Soccer Coaches Association Executive Committee, the National Championship Games Committee and four men’s soccer coaches.

NAIA All-Americans – Women’s Soccer
The Crossroads League took home 14 NAIA Women’s Soccer All-American awards, as recently announced by the NAIA National offices.
Marian’s Sydney Genatempo and Erin Oleksak highlighted that list for the league, along with Spring Arbor’s Mackenzie Selvius as NAIA First-Team All-American selections. In all, the CL had three First-Team All-Americans, four Second-Team selections, two Third-Team honors and five Honorable Mention All-Americans.
The 2020-2021 Women’s Soccer All-America Teams were chosen by the NAIA Women’s Soccer All-America Committee, made up of the NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches Association officers and seven additional women’s soccer coaches.

CoSIDA NAIA Academic All-District – Men’s and Women’s Basketball
The Crossroads League placed seven student-athletes on the 2020-2021 CoSIDA NAIA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Academic All-District Teams recently. Grace led the league with three honors, while Mount Vernon Nazarene collected two and Taylor and Indiana Wesleyan each picked up one.
On the men’s side, Crossroads League student-athletes claimed five-of-13 spots from Districts I and II, with the CL women adding two-of-12 spots from the 27 states in those two districts.
The seven student-athletes will advance to the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, which will be announced on May 25.
CoSIDA Academic All-District and All-America honors are voted on by CoSIDA members from around the nation after being nominated by their Sports Information Department.

All-Crossroads – Women’s Golf
The Crossroads League announced its 2020-2021 Women’s Golf All-League honors on Tuesday, following Taylor’s team championship on May 3 and 4.
The Trojans claimed seven total honors, highlighted by TU’s Nicole Jung being named the CL Player of the Year and Cameron Andry claiming CL Coach-of-the-Year honors. Jung was joined by Taylor French, Annie Stimmel and Maddie Thomas on the All-Crossroads League First-Team, with Rachel Coers earning Honorable Mention honors for Taylor.
The league’s other top honor went to Indiana Wesleyan’s Braedyn O’Dell, as the CL’s Newcomer of the Year. O’Dell was one of four Wildcats to also receive All-Crossroads League First-Team nods, as TU and IWU combined for eight of the 12 first-team slots.
The All-Crossroads League awards were voted on by the CL’s nine head women’s golf coaches.

All-Crossroads – Baseball
The Crossroads League announced its 2021 Baseball All-League honors on Tuesday, following Indiana Wesleyan’s run to the league’s regular season and tournament championships.
The Wildcats’ head coach, Rich Benjamin, took home CL Coach-of-the-Year honors and saw his squad claim a total of 10 All-CL honors, in addition to three Crossroads League Gold Glove awards.
The Crossroads League’s other top honors went to Mount Vernon Nazarene’s Aaron Saal as the CL Player of the Year, and to Taylor’s Joe Moran as the CL Pitcher and CL Newcomer of the Year.
The All-Crossroads League honors were voted on by the league’s 10 head baseball coaches.
