WARSAW — A Milford man will serve nine years in prison after molesting two children.
Jerry Wayne Lecount, 46, 13918 N. CR 400W, Milford, was charged with child molesting, a level 4 felony; and child solicitation, a level 5 felony.
Lecount was sentenced in Kosciusko Superior Court One on Wednesday, May 19.
On Nov. 20, 2019, an Indiana State Police officer was assigned to a report of child molestation from Elkhart County on Nov. 18, 2019.
According to court documents, Lecount confessed to molesting two children in LaGrange, Kosciusko and Marshall Counties.
During an interview with police, Lecount admitted to inappropriately touching one of the children several times. The earliest incident occurred in early 2019.
Lecount said he inappropriately touched the second child about six months prior to his interview with police. He admitted to touching the children in another interview with police on Dec. 16, 2019.
Both children were interviewed by Child Protective Services about the molestations.
For child molesting, Kosciusko Superior Court One Judge Pro Tem Karen Springer sentenced Lecount to nine years in the Indiana Department of Corrections, with six years executed and three years suspended on probation. Springer also sentenced Lecount to three years in DoC for child solicitation. Both counts will be served consecutively. In total, Lecount will serve nine years in prison.
This sentence will be served concurrently, or at the same time, as two out-of-county cases Lecount was sentenced for in December 2020. In a Marshall County case, Lecount was sentenced to three years and nine months through Marshall County Community Corrections and two years on probation for child molesting. In a LaGrange County case, Lecount was sentenced to six years in DoC for sexual misconduct with a minor, with two years suspended on probation.
A no-contact order is in place between Lecount and the victims.
