News Release
WARSAW – The driver of a truck that careened off of US 30 and into a building Tuesday apparently suffered a medical condition before the accident.
Emergency crews were dispatched to Perfection Bakeries shortly after noon Tuesday, May 25, for a crash involving a semi-tractor-trailer.
According to investigating deputies, Jeremy W. Blaze, 44, North Liberty, was driving a 2007 Kenworth semi-tractor, hauling an empty flatbed trailer westbound on US 30, according to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office.
He reportedly suffered a medical condition, crossed the median and eastbound lanes of US 30, before leaving the south side of the roadway and striking a building at Perfection Bakeries, along US 30 and east of South CR 225E.
Hazard materials personnel were requested at the scene for a diesel fuel leak.
Blaze was taken by EMS to a Warsaw hospital for evaluation.
Fire crews assisted with structure stabilization.
