Warsaw Mobilepack Will Be At Lincoln July 28-30
News Release
WARSAW — Warsaw MobilePack will return this year.
The Warsaw community is honored and excited to host and participate in FMSC’s official re-launch of community MobilePack events.
This summer, July 28-30, at Lincoln Elementary School, volunteers from the Warsaw community will gather to pack MannaPack ingredients which will be shipped to FMSC partners around the world providing life-saving meals for hungry children.
The Warsaw MobilePack on July 28-30, will be the fifth Warsaw MobilePack event. Our community has had a global impact on world hunger, packing over 4 million meals in the previous 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018 MobilePack events. These combined efforts of the Warsaw community MobilePack have fed 11,717 kids for an entire year. Meals were shipped to FMSC partners in Uganda, Haiti, Malawi, Mexico, Philippines, Honduras, Malawi and Guyana, and served children facing starvation.
The MobilePack scheduled for last October was cancelled due to Covid. The steering team remained hopeful and determined to continue to serve the cause and to bring our community this opportunity to serve the growing need of world hunger. All FMSC volunteer packing abruptly stopped on March 16, 2020, due to the pandemic and FMSC pivoted to machine packing for the first time in the history of the organization. In February 2021, a record 45 million meals were shipped to meet hunger needs around the world.
FMSC has successfully completed two test MobilePack events in April and will have the official MobilePack relaunch in June. Our Warsaw community is excited and honored to be a part of FMSC’s official relaunch.
The 2021 Warsaw MobilePack event will be hosted at Lincoln Elementary on July 28-30. One thousand community volunteers are needed to participate to pack a projected 275,000 meals. Individuals, families, sports team, clubs, businesses and church groups are all invited to pack.
Volunteer registration will open in mid-June and is expected to fill up quickly. Limited space will be available for daytime and evening shifts. Ages 5 and up are invited to participate. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up in groups of five and can expect to pack with their group. All Covid-19 safety guidelines will be followed.
