WINONA LAKE – To cap off her sterling career, Britney Young of Grace’s softball team was named an All-American by the NCCAA.
Young earned Second Team NCCAA honors after leading the Lady Lancers offensively this season. It marked the first All-American nod of her impressive career.
Young graduates as one of the most dangerous hitters in program history. She racked up 48 doubles in her career (second-most all-time) to go along with eight home runs (third-most).
Her total of 172 career hits ranks No. 8 in Lady Lancer history. Those rankings are all the more impressive as the majority of her 2020 season was wiped out due to COVID.
Young batted .394 during the 2021 campaign. She finished with 5 home runs, 17 doubles, 27 RBIs and 56 hits, all marks which led the team.
