ETNA GREEN — More information has been released on a fatal accident that happened early Sunday morning, June 13.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, June 13, Marlin Fuentes Sr., 32, Goshen, was traveling south on CR 875W in a 2011 Mazda. A semi-tractor trailer driven by Paul Banks, 44, Bridgman, Mich., was traveling west on US 30 and was approaching CR 875W prior to the collision.

Evidence indicates that Fuentes’ vehicle failed to yield to Banks’ vehicle at the intersection of US 30 and CR 875W. Banks’ vehicle hit the driver’s side door of Fuentes’ vehicle. Fuentes Sr. and a passenger in his vehicle, Marlin Fuentes Jr., 10, Goshen, were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office. Banks was uninjured in the collision.

Responding agencies include the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Etna Township Fire Department, Atwood Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
