Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 3:01 p.m. Monday, June 21, West US 30 and North CR 800W, Warsaw. Drivers: Dustin A. Sloan, 37, Sterling Court, Goshen, Mark A. Ady, 45, South David Street, Smithville, Ohio, and Rachelle L. Norman, 33, East High Street, Etna Green. Sloan was traveling northbound on CR 800W, Warsaw, crossing the intersection of US 30. He crossed the eastbound lanes and came to the median. He said he didn’t see Ady’s vehicle and proceeded north across the westbound lanes. His vehicle pulled into Ady’s path, causing Ady’s vehicle to hit his. Sloan’s vehicle then continued north and struck Norman’s vehicle that was stopped on CR 800W at a stop sign facing south. All the drivers complained of soreness from seat belts and airbags. A passenger in Sloan’s vehicle was taken to the hospital for neck pain. Damage: Up to $50,000.
- 12:03 p.m. Monday, June 21, East Armstrong Road west of North CR 75E, Leesburg. Driver: Richard D. Capps, 47, Sommersworth Lane, Indianapolis. Capps was traveling eastbound on Armstrong Road, Leesburg. In the area of 511 E. Armstrong Road, he lost control of his vehicle, and it ran off the right side of the roadway into a yard. His vehicle struck a landscape with large rocks. He was thrown from the vehicle. He was wearing a helmet and complained of back and wrist pain and was taken to the hospital. Damage: Up to $10,000.
