Summer Reading Event At Milford Public Library
News Release
MILFORD — Milford Public Library will offer the following activities June 28-July 3.
Summer Reading Special Event
A special Summer Reading event will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, via Zoom. Join others for Silly Safari’s “Tales & Tales — Animals In Fairy Tales” program. Amazon John will present a 45 minute show of animals we have read about in fairy tales. Animal programs are always popular with all ages, so plan to watch the ZOOM program.
The Zoom number is #982 4772 5851.
VIRTUAL STORY TIME – SOUTH AMERICA
Hola! Join the staff on Zoom at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 2 as Miss Julia reads tales about South America. The whole family is welcome for summer Story Time. Each family who attends the Zoom session will receive a copy of “International Cooking for Kids,” while supplies last.
Each international recipe page includes: facts about the country; fun country food facts; a phrase in the country’s native language (if possible); a map of the country and flag and international recipes for children to try. Pick up a free book at the library after Story Time. The staff is excited for others to join them on ZOOM. Registration is required to receive free books. No library card needed.
FREE ACTIVITY PACKET
Starting Monday, June 28 and going through Saturday, July 3, reading program participants can pick up this weeks’ South American-themed activity packet.
This week’s treat is a Bubulubu cookie bar, popular in Mexico. Pick up children’s preschool and K-5 packets at the children’s circulation desk. It contains several activities and a snack related to the week’s story time theme. Complete five activities and enter a drawing to win a prize.
Teen packets are available in the adult department and have a snack in addition to a project. Once completed, may enter a drawing for a gift card.
