Thomas L. Feldman
Thomas L. Feldman, 76, Etna Green, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021, at his daughter’s home with his family at his side.
Tom was born the son of Lawrence and Betty (Frenger) Feldman on May 1, 1945, in Warsaw. He was a lifetime resident of Etna Green, and graduated from Etna Green High School in 1963. He was an electrician for 40 years, owned Feldman Electric, and worked at R.R. Donnelly for many years as a machine operator. Thomas was an Etna Green Volunteer Fireman for 56 years, and held every office position including Fire Chief. A founding member of the Kosciusko County Squad 70 Fire Investigation Team from 1985 to 1995, he was awarded Fireman of the Year in 1987. He was also a founding member of the team that built the county’s save a life trailer. He was also a state certified fire instructor and was vice president of the county fire association.
Tom was a member of the Camp Creek Church of the Brethren and was baptized Sept. 27, 1992. He loved spending time watching his grandchildren’s sporting events, spending time with his family, taking “Dede”, his dog for walks in the woods to his treehouse and watching old westerns. Known for having a “good heart”, he enjoyed helping out his friends and family.
Thomas will be missed by his daughters: Shelly (Dale) Estep, Silver Lake; Amy (Rod) Yates, Warsaw; his sons: Jerry (Amy) Feldman, Winona Lake; Phillip (Vikki) Feldman, Kimmel; Kevin (Hope Gatley) Feldman, Ft. Garland, Colo.; his grandchildren: Taren Yates, Tyson Yates, Tanner Shepherd, Jason (Kayloni) Isbell, Autum Estep, Madison Estep, DJ Estep, Jarrod Feldman, Johnny Feldman, JB Feldman, Christi Feldman, Anthony (Nicole) Feldman, Skylar Feldman and significant other Sabrinna Anderson; and nine great-grandchildren, along with his brother Ed Feldman of Bourbon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Feldman.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Camp Creek Church of the Brethren and Etna Green Fire Department.
Friends and family may gather from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Camp Creek Church of the Brethren (7486 State Road 19, Etna Green, IN 46524). Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 8, in Camp Creek Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Roger Stuart officiating. The graveside service to follow at Etna Green Cemetery (East High Street, Etna Green, IN 46524) at 12:30 p.m. (This for the safety of everyone crossing SR 19 with traffic congestion).
