WARSAW – Tryout dates and important information for 2021-22 fall athletics seasons at Lakeview and Edgewood middle schools.

All athletes must have a completed physical on file before participating. Physicals must have been taken on or after April 1, 2021 – any physical before April 1, 2021 will not be accepted.

Volleyball: Edgewood Middle School will hold open gyms at Edgewood on the following dates: Aug. 2, 6 and 9 from 9-11 a.m. and Aug. 4 and 11 from 6-8 p.m. Tryouts will take place on Aug. 16-17 from 3-5 p.m.

Lakeview Middle School will hold open gyms at Lakeview on the following dates: Aug. 3, 5, 9 and 11 from 5-7 p.m. Tryouts will be held on Aug. 13 from 3:15-5 p.m.

Cheerleading: Tryouts for Lakeview will take place on July 12 and 16 from 5:30-7 p.m. Tryouts will be held in the Career Center Gym on the campus of Warsaw Community High School. Please enter through door 22.

Cross Country: Edgewood cross country will begin a summer program beginning on July 12 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Edgewood track and run Monday-Thursday. Athletes will need their own full water bottle (sharing will not be allowed), running shoes, shorts, shirts and a positive attitude. This is a great optional way to get in shape for the cross country season but also a way to get to know potential teammates and friends.

Edgewood Football: 8th grade equipment handout is Monday, Aug. 2 from 5-7 p.m. with the 7th grade equipment handout will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 5-7 p.m. This will take place at Edgewood Middle School. The first practice for both teams will be Aug. 4 from 5-6 p.m. with a parent meeting to follow at 6:15 in the bleachers at the football field. The football schedule is on the school’s website under athletics. Other important information will be presented at the parent meeting.

Lakeview Football: 7th grade football will begin on Aug. 5-6 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Lakeview Middle School. Players should be dropped off at the back entrance of the school. Coach Goshert will be at the school by 5 p.m. Practices will continue on Aug. 9-12 from 5:30-7 p.m. Beginning on Friday, Aug. 13, practices will be after school from 3:15-5 p.m. All football equipment will be furnished by Lakeview Middle School with the exception of mouth pieces, water bottles and shoes.
