Mary Patricia Buckey

Mary Patricia “Pat” Buckey, 75, Syracuse, passed away at 2:42 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Goshen Hospital. She was born July 29, 1945, in Crawfordsville, to Virgil W. and Patricia Adelene (Hearn) Stanfield.

She graduated in 1963 from Larwill High School, attended Indiana Purdue University in Fort Wayne, and was a lifetime Whitley and Kosciusko County area resident. She was married Sept. 1, 1989, in New Paris, to Gerald E. “Gerry“ Buckey who preceded her on July 27, 1994. She retired in 2008 from Homecrest Cabinetry in Goshen after 23 years and was formerly employed at Rinker Boats in Syracuse for 10 years and Fountain View Nursing Home in Goshen for eight years.

She was a member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Syracuse.

She is survived by her daughter, Marcella “Marcie” (Andy) Miller of Conover, N.C.; two sons: James “Jim” Yagel of Columbia City; and Wesley “Wes” (Alejandra “Ale”) Coy of McAllen, Texas; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Scherrie Duerr of Winter Haven, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Virgil Stanfield and Patricia Best.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Memorial services will follow at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Brower officiating. Private burial will be in the Syracuse Cemetery.
