WARSAW — Almost $5,000 was raised through Russ Spangle’s 2021 ROAR (Ride for Overcoming Addiction and Recovery) motorcycle benefit ride Sunday, July 18.
All proceeds go to New Life Celebrate Recovery, a program held by the church. Celebrate Recovery helps people address aspects such as compulsive behaviors, unhealthy relationships, addictions and past abuse.
Around 75 riders on 45 motorcycles set out from New Life Christian Church at 744 S. CR 325E, Warsaw, following a Celebrate Recovery service and lunch.
The Russ Spangle ride has taken place for eight years, said Donna Rhoades, one of the Celebrate Recovery leaders.
Pastor Bryan Lowe II said funds were raised through rider fees, donation, bake sale and meal sales as well as local business sponsorships.
“We believe in being a group of second chances. We stand with people who are overcoming hurts, habits and hang-ups,” Lowe said. “You are more then your past and we are blessed to live in a community that shows up for others.”
