One Dead, Two Injured Near The Town Of Butler Shooting

BUTLER – The Indiana State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shootings that occurred near Butler.
The shooting happened at about 8:47 p.m. at 5458 CR 22 near Butler, on Thursday, according to a news release from Indiana State Police.
Police released the name of the man who died – Samuel King, 36 of Butler. The other man and women injured in the shooting remain hospitalized.
Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of shots fired Thursday night at a residence in the 5000 block of CR 22. When deputies arrived, they found two men and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds and began life-saving measures until paramedics arrived.
The three were transported to Parkview North in Fort Wayne. King was pronounced dead at the hospital. An autopsy is scheduled for later today.
The investigation is continuing, police said.
