FORT WAYNE – Questa Education Foundation and K21 Health Foundation are partnering together to offer financial aid options for Kosciusko County students.

Funding has been expanded from high school seniors to currently enrolled college students, students with some credit returning to college, and adult learners.

Through this partnership, Questa funds students from Kosciusko County pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the healthcare field. Eligible fields include nursing, biology, pre-med, physical therapy, occupational therapy, pre-pharmacy, dental hygiene, and other healthcare programs.  

Selected students can receive up to $5,000 a year in forgivable loans for the duration of their undergraduate programs.

Through Questa’s program, the loans can be up to 75% forgiven if a student lives and works in Northeast Indiana for five years after graduation and attends a partner school (full list of partner schools available on Questa’s website at www.questafoundation.org). 

“Questa has helped my family be able to take some of the initial load off paying my school bills. It has decreased our out-of-pocket cost, and I am so thankful that it comes with a reduced payback bill,” says Madelene Johnson, a former Questa Scholar and graduate of Warsaw Community High School. Johnson graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in May 2021. 

Current and returning students and adult learners can apply through the Contemporary Scholars Program, open year-round. High school seniors and college freshmen seeking college funding for next year are encouraged to apply to the Traditional Scholars Program in December 2021 through March 2022.
