WARSAW — The Warsaw Community Public Library Board of Trustees approved updates to the library’s resident/non-resident card issuance policy during a meeting on Monday, Aug. 9.
The policy now includes a paragraph on the library’s new temporary seven-day card, which can be obtained through the WCPL website. Once the form is completed, the applicant has seven days to come into the library and have the temporary card exchanged to a regular library card.
For resident cards, applicants must show proof of residency in either Wayne Township, the Town of Winona Lake, or the Plain Township Airport area.
The board also approved a 2.5% salary increase for WCPL Director Ann Zydek. She said the library is working on raising its starting pay for employees and is undergoing staff rearrangement in departments.
“We’re watching where the patterns are,” said Zydek about staff movement to keep up with the library’s traffic. “And based on what I saw, one of our part-time individuals is going to go upstairs and work at information services. In September, we have a full and a part-time that are being created in the community outreach department.”
The board’s next meeting is at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13.
