Sara Shapland

NAPPANEE — A Statewide Silver Alert has been declared for a Nappanee teen.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of Sara Shapland, a 14-year-old white female who is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes. Sara was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with black shorts, Nike tennis shoes and a multicolored backpack.

Sara is missing from Nappanee and was last seen at 2:59 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17. She is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.
