Tractor Ride Will Honor Memory of Valley Student Who Died In 2015
News Release
CLAYPOOL – The Echoes of the Past will host a memorial tractor drive on Sept. 11 in memory of Kurt Miller, a student who loved farming.
Kurt died on April 17, 2015, in an accident at the age of 17. He was a student at Tippecanoe Valley High School and a member of the FFA and the Beaver Dam 4-H club.
His love of John Deere tractors was only surpassed by his love for Ford trucks. He had a smile and demeanor that changed the world of anyone who knew him, according to a news release from Echoes of the Past.
A memorial fund in his name has been set up in his honor that benefits youth involved in agricultural activities, such as FFA or 4-H.
The tractor drive will begin at Kurt’s childhood home at 8298 W 600 S Claypool. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the drive will begin at 9 am. You do not have to be a member of the club to participate in the drive.
The club will also have a tram to ride for those who would like to participate but do not own a tractor to drive. The route is approximately 25 miles and tractors must be able to maintain a minimum speed of 10 miles per hour.
Lunch will be served following the drive and Igloo ice cream will be available.
Donations from the drive and the lunch will benefit the memorial fund. For question about participating, please contact Kyle t 574-377-3947. mail
